How Sure Safe Makes Foundation Repairs

Sure Safe is unique amongst foundation repair contractors. Our patented VR-1 Foundation Repair System is the only ICS-ES certified repair method that repairs and strengthens your home in less time, without having to completely dig out the soil around your home. In addition to taking less time, Sure Safe repairs often cost far less than traditional repair methods. In the rest of this article, we’ll explain how Sure Safe goes about making repairs to your home.

Certified engineer foundation inspection

First things first. Before repairing the foundation, Sure Safe will have one of its certified engineers inspect your foundation to determine what repairs are necessary, if any. Sometimes damage can be superficial, and if your home doesn’t need repairs we will tell you! See our Yelp reviews. Our first priority is to make sure your home’s foundation is strong!

Inspections of the home often include exterior walk around, and interior frame and wall checks. If you have a crawl space under your home, we will go under the home to properly inspect each of the supports that make up your home’s foundation. An easy way to know that a contractor is not performing a proper inspection is when they tell you they don’t need to go under the home to see the state of your foundation.

Engineer-certified repair plan

After we’ve inspected the foundation, our engineer will create a repair plan specific to your home, and provide you with a quote. One of the most important parts of any repair plan is the inclusion of appropriate city permits. All Sure Safe repair plans include city permits as part of the estimate.

If a contractor gives you a quote without including a city permit beware! Without a city permit for the repairs, and work done will NOT be recognized by the city and cannot be added to the value of your home. Never use a contractor who does not get their repair plans approved by the appropriate government entities.

Repair your home

If your home does end up needing repairs, Sure Safe will most likely implement it’s VR-1 patented repair method to make your home strong again. The VR-1 System uses special geoform technology to replace and support the existing foundation without having to dig out your home. Sometimes repairs can be done in a single day, and usually in far less time than traditional repair methods.

VR-1 supports are 9 square feet and when adjusted to 800 psi in our engineering (the equivalent of beach sand) will support 7,200 lbs. which is 4,950 lbs. stronger than traditional 18”x18” poured footing. You can learn even more about the VR-1 system here.
